of the Otoe-Missouria Indian Tribe of Oklahoma. On this site, you
will find important information about the Otoe-Missouria Indian Tribe
in Red Rock, Oklahoma, which is the homeland of the Otoe-Missouria
Tribe.
The Otoe-Missouria Tribe consists of about 1440 enrolled members, about
one-third live in the Red Rock region and the rest are scattered throughout
the United States. Tribal members meet regularly at the cultural center
for ceremonies and social gatherings, and kinship and family remain ties
strong. The Otoe-Missouria Chapter of the American War Mothers provides
the tribe with benevolence and leadership, and the people assemble in mid-July
for the Otoe-Missouria Powwow. Some tribe’s people attend Protestant
or Catholic religious services, while others are members of the Native
American Church. The Otoe-Missouria people have successfully integrated
themselves into the larger social and economic patterns prevalent in Oklahoma,
but they still remain Otoe-Missouria, a people proud of their tribal traditions.
Otoe Missouria Tribe is located 24 Miles North of Stillwater, Oklahoma
and 17 miles South of Ponca City, Oklahoma.
