The Otoe-Missouria Tribe

Alvin Moore, Candidate for 3rd Member

Aho! My friends and relatives,

It’s that time again for Tribal Council elections.

I am announcing my candidacy for re-election for 3rd member Otoe/Missouria Tribal Council. It has been my pleasure to serve you three terms and now I wish to continue.

I am not a person to brag on myself but I will brag on this Council. For the past 9 or 10 years our tribe has been in the best shape ever in our History. We have a good team here

And that is what it takes (Team Work). We have a council that works well together. No one person can do much on their own, we have a Democracy majority vote wins.

We come together and discuss our issues and we vote that is how things get accomplished. Yes we sometimes have different opinions but we voice our opinions, vote on the matter and move on.

We do not get mad and dwell on the outcome.

As a Tribal Council member my job is to protect the assets of the Otoe/Missouria People. Not only protect what assets we have but obtain more. This Council has been steadily doing just that, obtaining

more and more assets. Look at all our new buildings that have gone up or under construction as we speak. The new Head start, the new wellness center is ready to open, the new state of the art softball

fields are near completion, adding extra bathrooms on our gasino here at home, starting construction of a monument company next to the cemetery, our new water plant will be up and running

before the end of the year. And our new Water Park and Hotel add on at First Council currently under construction. Also we are still pushing to open our own credit union.

This is some of the projects we have going on and I sure would like to be around to see them thru completion.

I would also like to mention some of our other tribally owned holdings.

Our 7C Land and Cattle Company, we continue to buy back land for our Otoe-Missouria Tribe, we continue to lease more and more land from Tribal land owners.

Currently own approximately 6000 acres (this is up from 900 ten years ago), we lease another 5000 acres and currently running 1600 head of cattle. We are farming soybean, wheat and hay.

Our three casinos are still doing good, our two gasinos are doing well and our PK services (propane, septic service, portable toilets) are still good. Our 7C Steak House is excellent.

There is just so much to mention.

Protect the assets of the Otoe-Missouria People (and obtain more)

Like I said I am just one person I cannot say I did this or I did that, but I can say We Did This!

I am proud of this Otoe-Missouria Council.

I support this Otoe-Missouria Council.

I humbly ask for your vote on November 3, 2018

Thank you,

Alvin L. Moore Sr
