Individuals desiring to be considered for enrollment in the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indian must meet the eligibility requirement of being descended from a Tribal Member from the Otoe-Missouria Base Roll, dated October 14, 1966 and who possess at least 1/8th degree Otoe-Missouria Indian Blood and he/she must have not received land or money by virtue of being enrolled as members of another Indian Tribe. Dual enrollment is prohibited.
The applicant must obtain and complete an enrollment application. This application will list all information required of the applicant. The application form will be provided by the Enrollment Clerk and must be returned completed to the Otoe-Missouria Enrollment Office and accompanied with the following required documentation:
- Family Tree
- Applicant’s original state-issued birth certificate
- Social Security Card (copy)
- Legal documents are required for any name change, such as marriage license and divorce decree, and if different from birth certificate
- Minor Custody Affidavit Form (if applicant is minor)
- Consent for Release of Information Form
Applicant(s) may request application(s) from either of the following sources:
- By mail.
All documentation mailed and received by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe must have the following brief statement shown on the envelope for Privacy Act purposes. On the front of the envelope please state: “Confidential Information”. This will flag the receptionist responsible for sorting and stamping incoming mail not to open the envelope and forward to the Enrollment Office, documents submitted with the enrollment application will be photocopied and the originals returned by mail to the applicant.

2. Applicants can acquire an enrollment application from the Tribal Enrollment Clerk at the Otoe-Missouria Tribal complex.
3. Web site – down load and complete and return by mail. Facsimile of the application and legal documents will not be accepted.
If an applicant has specified that he/she possesses other Indian blood beside Otoe-Missouria Indian Blood, then a contact is made to that specific tribe/nation to verify enrollment. “Dual Enrollment” between tribes is not recognized by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. If it is found that the applicant is an enrolled member of another tribe, then they will be notified by mail to decide which tribe they wish to remain as a member. A “Conditional Relinquishment” form will accompany such notification.
The membership applications are reviewed and approved by a three member Enrollment Committee: Tribal Council Secretary and two Tribal Council members.If any additional information is needed or requested by the committee, the Tribal Enrollment Department will make contact with the applicant to submit further documentation or proof of Tribal descent. After the above processes have been completed then the final recommendation of approval for eligible applicants will be submitted to the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Council for approval by Tribal Resolution.
Notification is made to eligible applicants of their approved membership to the Otoe-Missouria with a letter and Certificate Degree of Otoe-Missouria Indian Blood (CDIB) card and other pertinent Tribal information.
Renewal of Tribal Identification Cards
Tribal ID’s are valid for four years. To renew your tribal ID, you can either contact us by mail, in-person or call for a renewal. This renewal card is free to the member. For more information, please call Phoebe Miller at 580-723-4466 ext 238 or Georgene Williams at ext 130.
Tribal members that are already enrolled should inform the Tribal Enrollment Specialist of any change in addresses.
