The Otoe-Missouria Tribe Childcare and Development Program provides childcare assistance to eligible families residing within the Program Service area. Childcare assistance is provided to income eligible participants residing within the Program service area that are either working or attending school. Priority is given to teen parents, Otoe-Missouria Tribal Members, and single parent families.

Effective August 20, 2012 the Childcare and Development Program will begin accepting applications for Childcare Assistance from Enrolled Otoe-Missouria Tribal members who live within a 60 mile radius of the Tribal Complex. Members of other federally recognized tribes that live within the service area which includes the Perry, Morrison, Frontier, and Enid Public School Districts may also apply for assistance.

In addition, applicants can now apply for assistance for up to four children in a household, as opposed to the two child limit previously in place.

These expansions of Program services are designed to provide a higher level of assistance to Tribal members who may not be able to receive assistance through other avenues. Income eligibility requirements still apply, and completed applications will be processed on a first come first serve basis, for the limited number of slots available.

Eligible participants may either place their child/children in a DHS licensed facility of their choice, the Tribal Daycare Center located on the Tribal Complex, or with an eligible in-home family provider. A co-payment for participants is determined by family size and income. Other resources that the Childcare and Development program has to offer include; annual CPR/First Aid training, childcare resource and referral materials for parents and providers, and home health and safety supplies such as car seats, infant carriers, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and first aid kits.
