The American War Mothers Otoe Indian Chapter #14 has been dedicated to the service of our Otoe Military service men and women since September 14, 1943. For 69 years, the mothers (and fathers) or our service members have worked hard to send care packages, hosting dinners on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, standing vigilance at wakes, sitting at the bedsides of our sick and always acknowledging and giving praise to our Fighting Warriors and Veterans.
The Otoe War Mothers is a perpetually patriotic, 501(c) 4 non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, non-partisan organization whose members are mothers of children who have served or are serving in the Armed Services during a time of conflict.
Since December 2009 the Otoe War Mothers have been preparing care packages for 7 military personnel. It is a task that we have taken very seriously. Due to the cost of preparing packages and the postage for mailing, we will only be sending packages to those that are fulfilling their duties at a post outside the United States. But please let us know who, where and what branch. We will contact all of our Warriors! All donations of money, non-perishable foods, personal necessities, books, puzzles, etc would be greatly welcome and appreciated. Anyone out there with Native Music or Movies? These are much asked for items.
The Otoe War Mothers organization thankfully accepts donations of time and goods, as well as monetary gifts. If you would like to make a contribution please contact Alberta "Blondie" Kirn at 580-370-5715.
